SUICIDE COMMANDO (B)is a pioneering Belgian electro-industrial/EBM (Electronic Body Music) project, formed in 1986 by Johan Van Roy. Emerging from the European underground music scene, the project is renowned for its dark, aggressive soundscapes, blending harsh electronic beats with dystopian, often unsettling lyrical themes. Suicide Commando’s sound draws from early industrial music and the harsh beats of EBM, characterized by distorted vocals, driving rhythms, and a heavy, oppressive atmosphere.
Their 2000 album Mindstrip became a landmark in the harsh electro and dark industrial genres, featuring hits like “Hellraiser” and “Comatose Delusion.” Other albums like Bind, Torture, Kill (2006) further solidified the band's reputation, exploring themes of death, torture, and psychological trauma. Over the decades, Suicide Commando has maintained a strong following in the dark electro and goth subcultures, influencing numerous artists within the industrial and electronic scenes with their unrelenting, provocative sound.
This year they also celebrate 30 years of their debute album "Critical Stage" which will be rereleased for the first time on vynil in the near future! Especially for BIMFEST Suicide Commando will perform an exclusive old school set with ONLY material from that era!
CLOCK DVA (UK) is an influential British band, formed in Sheffield in 1978 by Adi Newton and Steven "Judd" Turner. Known for their pioneering blend of post-punk, industrial, and experimental electronic music, they helped shape the sound of the 1980s underground. Early in their career, they were associated with the burgeoning industrial scene, alongside acts like Throbbing Gristle and Cabaret Voltaire. Their debut album, Thirst (1981), displayed a raw, experimental edge, but it was their 1983 album, Advantage, that gained wider attention with its fusion of jazz, funk, and electronic elements. Clock DVA's later work, particularly albums like Buried Dreams (1989) and Man-Amplified (1992), explored cybernetic and dystopian themes, incorporating avant-garde electronics and sampling. Despite lineup changes and periods of hiatus, Newton remains the driving force, with Clock DVA continuing to influence industrial, EBM (electronic body music), and experimental music scenes.
This year Clock dva is celebrating the release of their iconic album 'Burried Dreams' on BIMFEST which was released 25 years ago!. For this special occasion Clock DVA will be performing material from their 1989 seminal record Buried Dreams, Man-Amplified, and a mixed oeuvre of their recent works including a selection of new releases including NOESIS and EXT Vol 1.
PANKOW (IT/A/B) are considered to be the pioneers of Italian EBM/industrial. They formed in Florence in 1979 and started experimenting with electronic machines from 1981. Pankow were the first Italian electronic band to gain wide success in Europe and the USA, they did a tour of 30 dates in the States at the beginning of the 90s'. Pankow's music and themes were often political and provocative, dealing with issues such as fascism, sex, and violence. Despite lineup changes and a hiatus in the early 1990s, Pankow continues to release new music and perform live. With dance floor staples such as “Kunst Und Wahnsinn” and “Me & My Ding Dong“, Pankow remains to be a favorite among the old schoolers and has also caught the attention of a newer generation with their more current releases. Today Pankow is based in Italy/Australia/Belgium with the heads of the band Maurizio Fasolo and Alex Spalck, the frontman singer Bram Declercq (NTRSN) and Enzo Regi.
Pankow surprised friend and foe already on BIMFEST 2011, this year the band finally returns to prove to us Pankow is still alive and kicking!
EMMON (SE) is the solo project of Swedish songwriter and producer Emma Nylén, launched in 2001. Known for blending electro-pop, synthpop, and dark wave, Emmon creates a unique sound characterized by catchy melodies and danceable beats. Emma Nylén's background as a member of the band Paris made her transition to a solo career seamless. Her debut album "The Art and the Evil" was released in 2007, followed by several acclaimed albums like "Closet Wanderings" and "Nomme." Emmon's dynamic live performances and innovative approach have earned her a dedicated following in the electronic music scene, establishing her as a prominent figure in modern synthpop.
HORSKH (FR) is the new French electro-indus sensation! Horskh is a collision between the raw energy of EBM, the violence of metal and the trance of electro. During their explosive concerts, the acoustic drums bring an organic depth to the saturated surges of the guitar and the machines. Beyond the melodic rage of the song, the live energy of the duo reinforces the impact of a sound material viscerally dedicated to movement. An oscillation between dancefloor and pogo! And if it were necessary to yield to the little game of references to situate this duo, imagine yourself at the center of gravity between Combichrist, Prodigy, early Marilyn Manson and Gesaffelstein.
Having toured all over Europe with bands such as Perturbator, Health, Ministry and Igorrr, played at the Zenith in Paris to open for Carpenter Brut, and abroad at festivals such as Brutal Assault, HORSKH is back with a new album, BODY, both explosive and adventurous.
LINEAR MOVEMENT (B) is a notable Belgian synthpop band from the early 1980s, was spearheaded by Peter Bonne, also known for his work with Twilight Ritual, Autumn and A Split-Second. The band is acclaimed for its melodic and minimal electronic sound that resonated deeply within the underground music scene. Their brief yet impactful existence produced a collection of tracks that have since become cult classics.
Their seminal album, "On the Screen," released in 1983, encapsulates the essence of their innovative approach to synthpop. Standout tracks such as "Way Out of Living" and "The Game" showcase their distinctive blend of melancholic melodies, minimalistic arrangements, and haunting vocals. Despite their limited discography, Linear Movement's music has been celebrated for its emotional depth and atmospheric quality.
In recent years Linear Movement's music has been rediscovered and cherished by new generations of synthpop and minimal wave enthusiasts. Their ability to craft timeless electronic music has secured their legacy within the genre, ensuring that their contributions to the Belgian and international music scenes are remembered and appreciated.
NTRSN (B) (pronounced Intrusion) is a Belgian EBM (Electronic Body Music) band formed in 2004 by Pieter David, Jorg Bryndonckx and was soon joined by Bram Declerq who became the lead singer. Renowned for their dark, intense soundscapes, NTRSN combines pounding industrial beats with aggressive synthesizers and dystopian lyrical themes. The band quickly gained recognition within the Belgian & European underground electronic scene, releasing several albums and performing at key festivals across Europe. Their work is marked by a relentless energy and a commitment to the raw, unfiltered essence of EBM, solidifying their place as stalwarts in the genre. This year, after years of silence, NTRSN emerged again to play stunning show at the WGT warm-up-pre-fest! It has been from 2007 NTRSN played BIMFEST so we couldn’t wait to get this great “local” EBM live act back on our stage!
BLAC KOLOR (D) is the dark electronic music project of German artist Hendrik Grothe, known for crafting intense, atmospheric soundscapes that merge industrial, techno, and EBM (Electronic Body Music). Emerging in the early 2010s, Blac Kolor quickly garnered attention with a signature style that combines pounding, mechanical beats with dystopian, ambient textures. His debut album, Wide Noise (2014), set the tone for his exploration of stark, minimalistic sound structures and rhythmic experimentation. Blac Kolor's music often delves into themes of control, isolation, and technology, creating a bleak, immersive atmosphere that resonates within industrial and techno clubs. Follow-up albums like Born in Ruins(2016) and Awakening (2019) expanded his sonic palette, further incorporating modular synths and elements of dark ambient. A staple in the industrial and dark techno scenes, Blac Kolor continues to evolve, influencing a generation of producers with his fusion of harsh electronics and deep, driving rhythms.
PLASTIKSTROM (D) is a German electro-industrial duo known for their hard-hitting fusion of EBM (Electronic Body Music), industrial, and darkwave. Formed by Plast and ST-Rom in the early 2000s, the band has gained a reputation for its energetic, danceable beats and politically charged lyrics. Drawing influences from the classic EBM acts of the 1980s like Front 242 and Nitzer Ebb, Plastikstrom delivers a raw, rhythmic assault with pounding basslines, sharp synths, and commanding vocals.
Their debut album, Monoton, introduced their driving sound, combining minimalistic, old-school EBM with modern production techniques. Plastikstrom's music often reflects themes of societal control, dystopia, and personal struggle, resonating with fans of dark electronic music worldwide. The duo is known for their powerful live performances, where their kinetic energy and relentless rhythms come alive. Plastikstrom continues to evolve, solidifying their place within the global industrial and EBM scenes.
SUPER DRAGON PUNCH!! (MEX/B) has cultivated its signature sound by creating electronic music that is influenced by 80s video game sounds, synthpop and industrial, as well as several other influences. Founded by Mexican-Belgian artist Jérémie Venganza,who has been active as a live performer with various Future-pop/Industrial/EBM projects for over 15 years, before creating his own project.
The band has performed with their illustrious highly energetic live shows at many events in Europe, Latin America, Japan and Russia. The new album will be released in 2024, preceded by the new singles “Split”, “Haste” and '“Rise”.
SDP!! was the winner of the W-fest Battle of the Artists competition that was supposed to make them score a gig on the main stage of W-festival 2024, but sadly the festival got cancelled due to bankruptcy. That's only one of the reasons we a BodyBeats decided to give this band another opportunity to prove and present themselves to our live audience!

DARK MINIMAL PROJECT (FR)
is a cutting-edge electronic music act known for its stripped-down yet powerful blend of minimal techno, darkwave, and industrial. Founded by a group of underground producers and DJs, the project focuses on creating deep, hypnotic soundscapes driven by pulsating basslines, eerie synths, and a minimalist approach to rhythm. The music is marked by a dark, brooding atmosphere, often exploring themes of isolation, dystopia, and existential dread.
Since their debut, Dark Minimal Project has carved out a niche in the underground electronic music scene, appealing to fans of both techno and industrial music. Their live performances are characterized by immersive, almost meditative sets that envelop the audience in their signature dark and minimal aesthetic. With a growing catalog of releases, including EPs and remixes, Dark Minimal Project has become a staple in the global dark electronic music scene, influencing both producers and listeners with their moody, minimalistic approach to sound.
