You, I, we all know that Belgium has a reputation in fabricating quality electronic music. It all began in the ’80, a time where lots of bands were popping up, and disturbing rock music with a fresh and daring electro sound. One of them was Parade Ground, starting with more cold wave inspired songs and evolving towards an intelligent electro pop sound avant la lettre.
PARADE GROUND was formed in 1983 by the brothers Pierre Pauly and Jean-Marc Pauly and brought out their first release in the same year under the wings of Daniel B. and Patrick Codenys (indeed the guys from Front 242!). Daniel B. and Patrick Codenys, aware of Parade Ground’s talent and potential, produced almost all releases form Parade ground and even released some material through Mask (Front 242’s label in the early days). On of those many EP’s they released is for instance 'Dual Perspective' with Daniel B producing side A and Colin Newman of WIRE producing side B.
The two brother were also involved in the producing and composing op the Front 242 Albums ‘Fuck:Up Evil’ & ‘Evil:Off’.
In 2004, Parade Ground was ready for a second career and played some of their new songs live on stage for the very first time on the 3rd Belgian Independent Music Festival surprising friend and foe.
Since the band played numerous gigs in Belgium, The Netherlands& Germany refining and adjusting their highly energetic and hypnotising live shows!
That the band is back in buisness is proven by the Dark Entries Records vinyl release 'The Golden Years' (2011) and more recent the Minimal>
Today PARADE GROUND is still sounding young, voilent and angry! Eager to play your event!
